In the early morning still out from an all night feasting on the grasses this hippo gives a wary eye. Hippopotamuses know how vulnerable they are when away from the their water. Adults weighing 3,000-4,000lbs can still get up and move fast when needed though. Photo © copyright by Lance B. Carter.
